Proposed Handicap System

Details of the upcoming handicap system and related meetings

At Convention 2015, a proposal for a new handicap system was presented by the National Handicap Committee, chaired by Hon. Registrar Helen McMorrow. The proposal outlined an online system which uses technology to calculate handicap adjustments based upon player performance in each competition they enter. The convention agreed to continue with the development of such a system with a view to implement it via a motion at Convention 2016. The National Handicap Committee have continued to work to this schedule and to facilitate the success of the motion at Convention 2016 have organised two open meetings for PPUI members to take place in January 2016, the dates of which are as follows:

Saturday 9th January 2016, Abbeyleix Manor Hotel

This meeting will be used as a discussion forum, the National Handicap Committee will be on hand to discuss the proposed system and there will be a demonstration of the system.

Sunday 31st January 2016, Abbeyleix Manor Hotel

This meeting will provide training and walkthroughs of typical system use cases. Attendees should bring laptops, tablets or compatible smart phones in order to work with the system alongside the National Handicap Committee.
