Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Tommy Hall RIP.

1974 National Matchplay champion at Shandon, Tommy Hall was the last inductee of the 20th century into Pitch and Putt’s Hall of Fame.

A qualified coach, Tommy retained a phenomenal interest in Pitch and Putt for decades, competing in every competition on the Kildare circuit and being an enthusiastic face in the gallery at all the major championships around the country.

He contributed much to the development of Pitch and Putt including securing his Level One Coaching Certificate and playing his part to ensure the future of the game at his club Irish Ropes/Ryston.

Three times Club Captain, Tommy served the club diligently in many capacities.

A two-time National Inter-County runner-up with Kildare (in 1971 and 1972), Tommy was an inspiring manager of the Kildare ladies team for many years.

Tommy was a formidable competitor but generated widespread acclaim for routinely conducting himself with the utmost dignity and with wonderful sportsmanship. He accepted the Hall of Fame award with the pride and humility that characterised his impressive Pitch and Putt career.

Tommy will be sadly missed by all at Ryston and by members of the wider Pitch and Putt community.
