Ranking Event 2025

Last Saturday in St Bridgets we had our first ranking event with one of the strongest fields for many years taking part. We had 97 entries and despite the inclement weather some top class scores were returned.
The first session leader was Stephen Shoer who had rounds of 45, 49 and in second spot we had Sean Goggin on 96 these score were exceptional in the blustery conditions. But with the second session commencing in driving rain and wind it didn't look like Stephen's score would be beaten. However with a who's who of our game the rain relented and wind dropped considerably thus resulting in much improved scores. Sean Harkins had a brilliant 43 to put himself very much in contention but a slow start stopped his momentum and despite his best efforts his second round of 51 left him one short of top prize.
With local hero and Irelands current no 1 Ian Dillon shot a 46 first round it was very much game on. Ian's second round 47 looked like taking top spot. James Cleary had a steady 48 first round but came alive in his second round to shoot 45 and claim first place on his second 18 performance.
We would like to thank all who took part and it was great to see the top dogs from Leinster and Munster do battle despite the trying conditions and all the players really enjoyed the experience.
The St Bridgets club as is their norm looked after all who took part and those officiating in their usual manner. We thank them for the use of their course and facilities.
