Brendan Moloney is the first Ardnacrusha member to win the National Gent’s Over-55 Junior Grade Strokeplay championship.
P.J. Ryan is the second player from Ardnacrusha to be the National Gent’s Over-55 Junior Grade Strokeplay runner-up, emulating Billy Lewis (who was second in the inaugural championship – in 2004).
Brendan Moloney and P.J. Ryan, who both helped Limerick to the 2018 Munster Inter-County title, are the first two players in history from the same club to be National Gent’s Over-55 Junior Grade Strokeplay winner and runner-up In the same year.
2023 champion Nicky Byrne finished third in the National Gent’s Over-55 Junior Grade Strokeplay for the second time. The Collins man replicates the feat of Ed Janssen who collected bronze medals in 2015 and 2017.
For third successive year and only the third time in history, the champion and runner-up in the same year have represented the same county.
Patsy Farrell is the second Riverdale player in history (following Sean Minogue in 2018) to win the National Gent’s Over-55 Intermediate Grade Strokeplay championship title.
Paul Shoer Senior is the third ever Riverdale player (after Brian Fagan in 2013 and Sean Minogue in 2017) to be the National Gent’s Over-55 Intermediate Grade Strokeplay championship runner-up.
For the second time ever, the National Gent’s Over-55 Intermediate Grade Strokeplay champion and runner-up in a single year represented the same club. Raffeen Creek were the previous club to achieve this - in 2019.
Sean Minogue is the first Riverdale member to claim a bronze medal in the National Gent’s Over-55 Intermediate Grade Strokeplay championship.
Minogue now completes the set of winning (2018), runner-up (2017) and third place (2025) appearances in the National Gent’s Over-55 Intermediate Grade Strokeplay championship.
Riverdale is the first club ever to provide the first, second and third place finishers in a single staging of the National Gent’s Over-55 Intermediate Grade Strokeplay championship.
For the third time in history, the champion and runner-up in the same year have represented the same county.
Thirty years since he won the main All-Ireland Strokeplay championship, Chris Scannell’s powerful second eighteen 44 propelled him to National Gent’s Over-55 Senior Grade Strokeplay glory.

Pacelli Darcy earned a second runners-up prize. That puts him on course to match Pat Greene who has been second three times.
Pacelli is the first player to represent two different clubs during his second place finishes.
Both of Pacelli’s runners-up slots have been secured on the countback.
The 2025 runners-up score is the highest in the championship’s history.
Tadgh Harrington landed the bronze medal for the second time, which puts him on a par with Barry Morrissey and Kevin Bermingham.
Tadgh is the first player to represent two different clubs during his second place finishes.
The 2025 third place score ties the highest in history (Sean Breen scored 104 at Shandon in 2005).
Holder Geraldine Ward retained the National Ladies over 55 Senior Grade Strokeplay title and won for the third year in succession, replicating club colleague Sheelagh Elmes’ feat in 2010, 2011 and 2012
Ger moves on to three titles, second on the all-time Roll of Honour to to Sheelagh Elmes’ four.
Ger finished in the top three for the fourth successive year, equalling Sheelagh Elmes (four top threes in succession from 2010).
Mary Murray captured the runners-up slot for the second time, matching Kathleen Geraghty, Mairead O’Toole, Maree O’Toole and Margaret Hogan.
Breda White finished in third place in the for the second successive year and for the third time in all.

Margaret Hennessy adds the National Over-55 Intermediate grade Strokeplay championship crown to the 2021 National Junior Strokeplay title and the 2024 National Intermediate Strokeplay trophy.
2019 champion Frances Ryan has now filled each of the main podium positions in the National Ladies Over-55 intermediate grade Strokeplay championship having been third at McDonagh in 2018. Frances is the first player in history to record a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the event.
Having collected a silver medal at St. Stephen’s last year, Margaret Forde picked-up a third National Ladies Over-55 intermediate grade Strokeplay championship bronze medal. No other player holds more than one.
Catherine Dunne is the second player in history (after Nora O’Hare eight years ago) to win the National Ladies Over-55 Junior grade Strokeplay championship over her home course
Catherine is the third Riverdale member after Margaret Clear (2013, 2014) and Margaret Forde (2012) to win the National Ladies Over-55 Junior grade Strokeplay championship
2022 champion Ann Williams collected the silver medal and becomes the fourth player in history (after Dina Dillon, Anne Sweeney and Margaret O’Donovan to hold at least one gold and one silver at the National Ladies Over-55 Junior grade Strokeplay championship
Shirley Wells is the first Cloghogue player to finish third in the National Ladies Over-55 Junior grade Strokeplay championship and completes the set for Cloghogue (Nora O’Hare won in 2017 while Maria Cranney and Alice Rice have both recorded second place finishes.
Twice-champion Margaret Hogan has now added Best Nett to her two victories, two runners-up performances and three third place finishes.
2005 National Mixed Team event winner Kathleen O’Lone is the first Ferbane player (and the first from Co. Offaly) to claim National Ladies Over-55 Intermediate grade Strokeplay Best Nett.
Serena O’Neill is the first Larkspur Park player (and the first from Co. Tipperary) to collect National Ladies Over-55 Junior grade Strokeplay Best Nett.
Junior Nett winner Peter Dunning adds another National prize to his runner-up performance in last year’s All-Ireland Inter-Club. He is the first Riverdale member and the first from the Premier County to register a Best Nett win in the National Gents Over-55 Junior grade Strokeplay.
By winning the Best Nett, James McGrath completed a clean sweep for Riverdale in the National Gents Over-55 Intermediate grade Strokeplay championship – 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Best Nett. This is a first for any grade in the National Over-55 Strokeplay championships – Gents or Ladies.
Noel Comiskey is the first KIlbeggan player (and the first from Co. Westmeath) to win Best Nett in the National Gents Over-55 Senior grade Strokeplay championship. Noel matches Kilbeggan clubmate Kathleen Carton who Ladies intermediate grade Nett winner in 2016.
Riverdale claimed eight of the 24 prizes on offer, an impressive total, but still shy of Cloghogue’s ten in 2017.
The Nenagh outfit are the jointly the most successful club in Over-55 Strokeplay championship history with ten wins across Ladies and Gents, the same as St. Bridget’s.
Portmarnock and St. Bridget’s top the all-time ladies Roll of Honour with seven wins apiece, ahead of Riverdale on six.
Riverdale are joint top in Gents, alongside Lucan and Raffeen Creek on four wins.
