Holders Eileen McCarthy (Deerpark) & Darren Goodall (Tralee) will play in the afternoon session and have been drawn with 2023 champions Audrey Donnelly & Padraic Sarsfield (MacBride) in what is sure to be a high quality Foursome.

Twice Best Gross victors Liz Quinn & Alan Hanlon of the host club are scheduled to play in the morning wave alongside Kilbeggan husband wife pair Adeline & Jimmy Revins.

Liz also took second place with Paul Bray in 2001 and claimed provincial Gross laurels at Collinstown in 2022 with Rene Jan Bloem.

2002 runners-up Kathleen Carton & John Carton (Kilbeggan) were winners of the Leinster Mixed Foursomes at Sunday’s venue three years ago and runners-up on home turf a year later. The Hickeys of Bagenalstown, Ann & Ken, will be the Cartons’ playing partners.

Wiliam Sheridan (Bellewstown) boasts an outstanding National Mixed Foursomes record. 2014 champion and 2016 Best Gross winner (with Navan’s Catherine McCreevy on both occasions), William now links with 2019 Leinster Strokeplay runner-up Annette Dooner (Oldcastle). The Co. Meath duo are paired with Lucan’s Siobhan Keely (who enjoyed much past Mixed Foursomes success with Junior Smith) and Barry Gorey, a former National Juvenile Inter-County winner.

Carol Tracey & husband Gerry Tracey (R.G.S.C.) who were 2000 runners-up play alongside Collinstown’s own Ann & Nick Sheldrick.

Three-time (and reigning Leinster champions) Catherine Dillon & Ian Dillon (St. Bridget’s) finished second in the same event at Collinstown in 2022. The Kilcullen pair will have Westmeath Inter-County players Tracy Monaghan & Jack Buckley of the local club for company.

2024 runners-up Margaret Hennessy & Sean Minogue (Riverdale) will have Ursula & Eamonn Dowd (Navan) as fellow competitors. Ursula & Eamonn lifted the provincial 2nd 18 award in 2022 at Collinstown.

In an all-Meath Foursome, 2012 runner-up Margaret Conneely now partners Trim clubmate and Ireland team manager Paddy Kelly and they will tee-off with Royal Meath’s Sean Kelly & Teresa Fagan, twice previously Leinster session winners.

Contesting the final again are Tullamore husband and wife pairing Denise Pyke and Enda Pyke (Tullamore) who came second away back in 1988. Enda also won with his mother Una in 1984 at Cement (now Killineer). Pat & Patricia McCarthy (Rochfortbridge) will play opposite their Co. Offaly neighbours.

Lucan’s Gareth Walsh captured the Best Gross in 2023 and now seeks a quick repeat with a different partner, Glenda Hoey.

Two more Best Gross contenders (at least) will be Amy & Anthony Galvin (Tullamore) and fellow competitors Tracey & Keith Redmond (Lucan), who retained the Leinster Best Gross title earlier in the season. Once winner, once runner-up and twice Best Gross winner nationally and four-time Leinster champion, Tracey has a stellar Mixed Foursomes record while Amy & Anthony scooped Best Gross in the 2023 Leinster Mixed Foursomes.

Completing the morning groupings are 2024 Best Gross victors Margaret Hogan & Darren O’Connell (Tullamore) along with Elizabeth & Ray Maguire (Royal Meath).

In the afternoon, 2022 Best Gross winner Paula Nolan now plays alongside ESB clubmate Hugh Cooney. The Cork pair will be accompanied by Down Inter-County team members Shirley Wells & Ronan Hollywood (Cloghogue). Paula & Hugh were Munster 2nd 18 winners in 2019 and collected provincial Best Gross in 2016.

Reigning Munster Mixed Foursomes champions Barry Morrissey (Crosshaven) & Bishopstown’s Anne O’Callaghan partner their fellow Cork players Catherine & Kevin Doyle (Kilworth).

2019 runners-up Marie Brennan & Richard Brennan (Bellewstown) accompany Amy O’Sullivan (Hillview) and Brian Cahill (Larkspur Park).

Three-time Munster Best Gross winners Breda White & Michael Brennan (Tipperary Hills) have been drawn with Athgarvan’s Laura Fogarty & John Kelly.

Two further Co. Tipperary pairs to watch will be last year’s Non-Mixed runner-up Sean McCormack & Mary Quinn along with their Lakeside clubmates Thomas Roberts & Josephine Tobin. Sean & Mary were Munster 1st session winners last year while Thomas & Josephine collected All-Ireland session honours in 2022.

Barbara Murphy & Declan Murphy (Seapoint) were runners-up to Catherine & Ian Dillon at Poulaphouca in April while Kathleen Geraghty (Skryne) & Ian Farrelly (Laytown) were National Best Gross winners in 2012.

2019 victors Paula Lynch (Oldcastle) & Kevin Carolan (Rathfeigh) will fancy their chances of a repeat success while two-time provincial Mixed Foursomes champions Elaine Quinn & Michael Fennell (Lakeside) will bid to add the Sean Coyne trophy to their honours list.

2015 runners-up and former two-time Munster champions Lisa O’Connor & Tony Blake (Tralee) will seek to go one better nationally as will 2022 second place finisher John Fitzgerald, this time partnered by fellow Hillview player Lorraine Creed. Lorraine and John were crowned Munster champions in 2023.

Tracey Smith is another former runner-up (2017) and teams up this time with Lucan clubmate Gary Ryan, a former National Juvenile Inter-County silver medallist.

Ann & Paddy Bird (Killineer), Orla & Damian Creevey (Lucan) along with Veronica & Adrian Anglim (Hillview) are three other pairs to have picked-up session prizes at their respective provincial Mixed Foursomes tournaments.
