2025 National Ladies Nett Matchplay Preview

As the National Ladies Nett Matchplay approaches please see John Mannings excellent preview:
2023 Champion Audrey Donnelly (MacBride) features in one of four preliminary matches in the 2025 All Ireland Ladies Matchplay Nett Cup.
Winner of the 2023 National Mixed Foursomes, Audrey is a proven Matchplayer, having been crowned Leinster junior Matchplay champion three times. Audrey has been drawn against Larkspur Park’s Serena O’Neill, who helped Tipperary to the third Nett award in the 2024 Munster Inter-County.
Riverdale’s Liz Forde will bring the experience of two bronze medals (one inter and one junior) in the National Over-55s Strokeplay championships into her preliminary match against Deerpark’s Jean O’Shea.
2024 Munster Junior Strokeplay runner-up Catriona O’Connor (Tralee) is another contestant to watch in the top half of the draw.
An intriguing clash at the bottom of the first half of the draw will see Veronica Anglim (Hillview) face Megan Ahern (Collins). A strong Mixed Foursomes performer, Veronica reached the semi-finals at Larkpsut Park twelve months ago. 2024 Munster Girls Strokeplay champion, Megan has impressed in her debut season in the adult ranks, claiming Cork Junior Matchplay laurels and reaching the Munster Matchplay final.
2013 Leinster Intermediate Matchplay champion Linda Flanagan will have a home player’s chance around Erry. Linda’s first assignment is to face 2025 Munster Matchplay runner-up Lisa O'Connor (Tralee), a past Munster Mixed Foursomes winner.
2022 National Mixed Foursomes champ 2022 Grainne Shelley (Larkspur Park) awaits the winner.
2024 National Mixed Foursomes champion Eileen McCarthy (Deerpark) was a two-time Munster Matchplay champion as a juvenile. Very successful following her return to the sport after a protracted absence, Eileen will be fancied to do well here.
Catherine Dillon (St. Bridget’s) has won the Leinster Mixed Foursomes title on no fewer than three occasions. At the very bottom of the draw, Catherine will face the victor of a preliminary round encounter that sees 2024 Leinster Strokeplay champion Christina Foley (Athgarvan) face Angela Connolly (Eden). Christina Foley was third in last year’s National Junior Strokeplay, a championship in which Angela claimed Best final 18.
