Bruff won the National Inter-Club tournament for the first time ever.

Bruff’s win comes after two runners-up performances (and two other semi-final appearances) by the Co. Limerick club.

2025 winners Liam O’Donovan and Aidan O’Sullivan also hold a runners-up medal apiece – Liam was on the 2015 side while Aidan played two years ago.

Kieran Earls and Liam O’Donovan are no strangers to team success with National Inter-Club glory joining victories at Inter-County (three Munster titles apiece), European Team championship (one for Kieran, four for Liam) and World Cup level (Kieran’s win in Spain last year).

Peadar McCarthy adds a national Inter-Club winners’ medal to an All-Ireland Junior Inter-County championship title with Limerick three years ago.

Michael Farrell builds on a Munster Junior Inter-County runners-up performance for Limerick in 2015 while Bobby Ryan’s success augments his Limerick Junior Matchplay victory last season.

Bruff’s win was the seventh in succession by a Munster club – St. Patrick’s in 2015 are the most recent (and only) Leinster club to claim the title.

Cunnigar are the first Waterford club to collect second place in the National Inter-Club - the 2025 Dungarvan-based National Inter-Club team matching the Cunnigar teams that were runners-up in the 2011 and 2012 National Scrambles and in the 1992 All-Ireland (Carrolls) Club Tournament.

2025 National Inter-Club tournament silver medalist Aidan O’Rourke also collected a silver medal in the 2012 National Scramble.

Dylan Moroney was Munster Intermediate Matchplay champion in 2024 while John O’Shea was a close sixth in the Riverdale National Intermediate Strokeplay championship of 2023.

Simon Drummey, Declan Byrne and Adrian O’Shea completed the Cunnigar line-up, which performed so impressively, while lacking a single senior player in their ranks.

6-3 has been the winning margin in five National Inter-Club tournament finals. Bruff have been involved in three of those (6-3 v. Cunnigar in 2025 and 3-6 v. St. Patrick’s in 2015 along with 3-6 v. Fermoy two years ago).

Fermoy hosted the National Inter-Club for the first time and became the eighth club overall to welcome the season finale.

Bruff join Fermoy as a club to have won a National Inter-Club final and hosted a National Inter-Club final. Bruff achieved the feat in reverse order.

Lucan became the first Dublin club to contest a National Scratch Inter-Club semi-final since Erin’s Isle in 2014.

Riverdale finished in the National Scratch Inter-Club top four for the third time
