The National graded Inter-County challenges have a relatively short history but the current score stands at 9-1 to Munster counties.

No Leinster county has yet won the junior title and only Kildare (the 2024 victors) have broken the southern province dominance in intermediate.

Cork sit proudly atop the intermediate Roll of Honour with three wins out of five. Tipperary. 2023 and 2024 champions Kerry hold pole position in junior with those two consecutive successes.

Louth lead the way with three runners-up spots (two intermediate and one junior) while Westmeath (junior twice) have finished second on two occasions.

Just three players have more than one winners’ medal. Fermoy pair Jimmy Quinn and J.J. Quirke figured on the successful 2019 and 2022 Cork intermediate squads while Darren O’Leary featured in 2022 and in 2023.

7-2 is the highest winning margin and has been achieved on five occasions – three times in intermediate and twice in junior. 7-2 has been the intermediate winning margin in each of the past three season.

5-4 is (not surprisingly) the lowest winning margin and has been achieved on three occasions – twice in intermediate and once in junior.

Fermoy has supplied the most individual intermediate Inter-County winners – J.J. Quirke (two wins), Ryan Sexton, Jimmy Quinn, Robbie Donovan, Dylan Seymour and Gavin Dawson. St. Anne’s aren’t far behind – Darren O’Leary (two wins), Cian Murphy and Donal Duggan. Jimmy Quinn and Killian Power were members of Collins during their 2019 campaign while Morty Ahern also represents the Camp Field club. David O’Leary and Ronan O’Driscoll were the Douglas contributors to the early Leeside supremacy in this event while Ger Kehoe (E.S.B.) and Phillip Burns (Brinny) played in 2023. Kildare’s successful 2024 sextet contained five Athgarvan members (Ollie Lambe, Cathal O’Toole, Kevin Lambe, Eoin Comiskey and Anthony Higgins and Ryston’s Martin Power. Riverdale (Tim Crowe, Matt Corrigan, Sean Minogue and Bobby Ryan), Lakeside (Noel Stapleton) and Tipperary Hills (Robert O’Donnell and Ray Lyons) were all represented on Tipp’s 2025 winning combination

There is a greater spread of clubs across the successful junior players. But Tralee supplied five (Mark O’Regan, Mark O’Shea, Pa Byrne David Hobbert and Noel Lee) of Kerry’s 2024 winning sextet – Deerpark’s Robbie O’Connor joining the Tralee men. Bruff were represented by four (Kieran Donegan, Shaun Donegan, Peadar McCarthy and Mike O’Donnell) of Limerick’s 2022 winning side with two from Ardnacrusha (Ralph Fitzgerald and Rick Harty). Three Tralee men (Mark Lucey, John O’Regan and Michael Creagh) figured on Kerry’s triumphant 2023 squad together with two from Deerpark (Fintan Martin and Brian Moloney) and one from Castleisland (Dan Broderick). Tipperary’s winning team of six years ago was evenly dispersed across Larkspur Park (Ken Hayes and Daniel Ryan), Riverdale (Sean Crowe and Ger Tuite) and Tipperary Hills (Michael Butler and Michael O’Donoghue). Five different clubs featured in Cork’s triumphant 2025 set-up – Claycastle Aidan Spence-Murphy, ESB (Ger Dinan), Lakewood (David O’Leary), Crosshaven (Dave Connolly) and Bishopstown (Ian McCarthy and Stephen Conlon).

By virtue of their respective 2025 wins, Cork and Tipperary become the first two counties to lift at least one intermediate and at least one junior title. The Rebel and Premier counties also become the first two counties to win at each of the overall, intermediate and junior levels.

Sean Minogue becomes the first player to collect overall Inter-County winners’ medals and gold at intermediate Inter-County level.

Tim Crowe (intermediate) joins his son Sean (junior) as a National graded Inter-County winner.
