A lovely day at Lakeside, thirteen of the top players on the course at the one time, all playing to book a seat on the plane to Spain in July. Frank Dineen with a blistering -13 led the way followed by Rene Jan Bloem in second on -9. Mark Millar on -8 was in 3rd followed in by Donal Duggan on -7 and Alan Hanlon on -6.  followed in by Trevor Ahern on -5  (back 18) took the final spot.

Other scores on the day: Stephen Murray & Brian Cahill: -5,  William Buckley & Jim Judge: -4, Pachelli Darcy with -3 plus Padraic Sarsfield & Damien Mulally on -1.                  

The line up now heading to Spain to fly the Irish flag is  Ray Murphy, John Crangle, Jonathan Goodall, John Walsh, Damien Fleming, Frank Dineen, Alan Hanlon, Donal Duggan, Ian Farrelly, Mark Millar, Rene Jan Bloem, & Trevor Ahern, with the only lady in the field, last years winner Chrissie Byrne.
