There is profound sadness in Pitch and Putt circles following the passing of Stella Sheridan (RIP).
A supportive colleague, Stella was a valued member of many successful Dublin teams, sharing in seven Leinster Inter-County championship wins (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2012) and in three National Inter-County victories (1998, 2001, 2004).
An empathetic playing partner, Stella revelled in foursomes events, claiming the Leinster Mixed Foursomes title in 2001 (with Tommy Collins) and in 2014 (with Frank Connolly) before collecting the Dublin equivalent in 2017 (alongside Frank Connolly again).
Third in the National Ladies Strokeplay championship in 2001 at Glenville, Stella was a key contributor to a Glenville team (that also included George White, Frank Connolly and Ger O'Connor), which won Best Gross in the 2008 National Mixed Team Event.
Dublin Matchplay champion in 2006 and 2007, Stella was a regular Dublin League winner with Glenville.
A lovely lady, Stella conducted herself at all times with the utmost dignity and sportsmanship.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Glenville Pitch and Putt club and to Stella’s family and friends.
