As you were previously informed, the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport has announced that a €40 million Sports Capital Programme will be available for 2014. This funding represents is the main channel of Government support for developing sports facilities and purchasing sports equipment for sports clubs and organisations across Ireland.

The terms and conditions of this year’s programme have been finalised and it has been announced by Minister Michael Ring TD that applications will be accepted from January 17th 2014. The closing date for applications is February 28th 2014 at 5pm.

In order to apply for funding under the Sports Capital Programme, clubs and organisations must register through the new online system – OSCAR (Online Sports Capital Register).

OSCAR will also allow groups to view previous grants and payments, change contact details, seek payment of a grant and otherwise communicate with the Department online. This will be the only way to apply for grants under any future rounds of the Sports Capital Programme. The closing date for the registration process is February 7th but it is strongly recommended that clubs/groups wishing to apply for funding under the 2014 Sports Capital Programme register before the application process opens on January 17th.

The details on how to register are included in the earlier article, which is linked below along with other useful information.
