News from Saturday's Meeting
A reminder that the scores from yesterdays National Strokeplay Qualifying have to be entered into the Handicap System.
Just a note to let people know that the Douglas Scratch Cup and the Gaeil Colmcille Open have been Cancelled.
NEC Meeting 22.6.19
Following a Meeting of the NEC on Saturday morning, we wish to make the following announcements:
(i) The B Division of the National Mens Inter-County will not be contested this year. However the Eamon Birchall Cup will be awarded to the county that achieves the best Nett score outside of the main standings.
(ii) A Nett Prize will be awarded at this year’s National Ladies Inter-County Championships in the same circumstances as well.
(iii) A sub may be permitted on separate days in the Inter-County but a sub must play both Double and Singles formats on the day he or she is being subbed in.
(iv) A National Championship between the Provincial Inter-County winners in the Intermediate and Junior grades will be contested this year. It is to be held on the weekend on the National Inter-Club Finals.
(v) For this year’s National Inter-Club, clubs only have to indicate it is entering a team by the closing date and can confirm their line-up on the day of qualifying where applicable.
(vi) The National and Provincial U-16 Inter-Counties will be contested amongst teams of four from 2020 with counties allowed enter a second team if they so wish. The National and Provincials for this year will be run the same as last year.
(vii) Clubs may now award handicaps to U-16’s in club competitions if they so wish. Clubs who reach their Juvenile Registered numbers of last year, will have any additional Juvenile members this year Registered Free-Of-Charge
(viii) The Scotch Foursomes Competitions (Provincial & National) this year will see two categories. Mixed and Non-Mixed. While the main prize will be awarded to the lowest scores regardless of combination, all other prizes will be awarded as Mixed and Non-Mixed.
(ix) It was decided to treat the 2020 fixture calendar as a blank canvas with the exception of the June Bank Holiday weekend remaining as the weekend for the National Adult Matchplay Championships. It is hoped to publish same in August which will give counties/clubs time to make their own adjustments as necessary.
(x) Ireland will apply to host the 2022 European Pitch & Putt Championships. More details anon.
