In relation to the National U16 Strokeplay and Inter-County Championships in Deerpark on the weekend of August 21st and the costs associated with it in the current climate, the NEC has decided the following to try and help alleviate the situation:  

 

All play will take place on Saturday August 20th comprising the following:  

 

Inter-County teams must be named prior to start of play on day  

 

National Strokeplay

All players will firstly play 36 Holes Strokeplay which will count for the Boys and Girls U16 Championships and the Boys U13 section prize

 

Inter-County

An Inter-County team player’s best 18 holes in the Strokeplay will be their Inter-County singles score while after the 36 holes is completed the Inter-County players will play 18 holes of Scotch Foursomes to complete the team event.

 

In a further bid to help counties field Inter-County teams, we will be doing what we are doing at Provincial level as well where it will be teams of four with counties eligible to enter a second team if they so wish.  

 

The closing date for entries is Wednesday July 27th. We also intend to run the U20 Strokeplay Championship that weekend. Entries close same date as U16’s.  

 

Deerpark are holding an U16 Scratch Cup on the Friday before which is free entry for all entrants in the National Strokeplay in lieu of practice.
