NATIONAL SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIPS – LADIES SCOREBOARD

5.45pm 

It's all over in Gaeil Colmcille for the day and Loughlinstown's Betty Cody has got the better of local duo Monica McGovern and Beulah Morris after a marathon 13 hole playoff to win the Intermediate title! In the Junior Ladies meanwhile Riverdale's Margaret Clear has retained her title with a second round of 57 to finish on 118 and emerge victorious by a single stroke. A second round of 56 gave Rathfeigh's Joan Caffery second on 119 with Skyrne's Anne Nugent a further shot back in third and 18 hole leader Margaret O'Donovan from Bruff finishing fourth on 121. Well done to Betty and Margaret on two hard fought victories.

4pm 

After the First Round of the Junior Ladies Championship in Gaeil Colmcille, Bruff's Margaret O'Donovan leads by a shot with a score of 59, Skryne's Anne Nugent and Ryston's Esther Martin share second on 60 while defending champion Margaret Clear from Riverdale is a further shot back on 61 in fourth.

2.40pm 

We will need a playoff to decide the Intermediate Ladies grade in Gaeil Colmcille as two players from the host club Beulah Morris and Monica McGovern along with Loughlinstown's Betty Cody have all finished level on five over par after 36 holes. 18 hole leader Mary Fullam from Shandon finished up on eight over par.

1.15pm 

A brillant second round of nine under par has given Margaret Hogan of Tullamore victory in the National Senior Ladies Championship in Gaeil Colmcille. Her 36 hole total of 13 under par was seven shots better than Cement's Jean Cooney in second on six under par who was a shot better than both Erry's Helen Wynne and Portmarnock's Sheelagh Elmes who both finished on five under par. Well done to Margaret on yet another National title.

12.50pm 

After the first 18 holes in the Intermediate Ladies in Gaeil Colmcille, there is very little to seperate the contenders so far as Shandon's Mary Fullam leads on level par. St Bridgets' Bernie Dunne is one over par with three players on two over par namely Hillview's Kathleen Shanley, Betty Cody from Loughlinstown and Monica McGovern from the hosts.

11.30am 

After the first 18 holes in the Senior Ladies Championship in Gaeil Colmcille, Tullamore's Margaret Hogan and Cement's Jean Cooney share the lead on four under par, Portmarnock's Sheelagh Elmes and Old County's Vera Glennon are sharing third on three under par with Lucan's Phil Condron and Erry's Helen Wynne both on two under in a share of fifth.
