2016 National Matchplay Photos Day One

After a marathon day in the National Matchplay Championships in Seapoint we now know the Semi-Finalists in both the Ladies and Gents Grades. In the Ladies defending champion Chrissie Byrne has made it to the last four and she will take on the player she beat in the 2012 Final in Claycastle in Eleanor Walsh of Fermoy in our first semi-final. The Second Semi-Final will be between our reigning National Senior Strokeplay Champion Ger Ward and our reigning National O-55's Strokeplay Champion in the Senior grade, Ger Holland of RGSC, an all Dublin affair.
Meanwhile in the Gents it's been a big day for the St Patricks club in Enniscorthy as two of the Semi-Finalists come from that club in the form of Martin O'Neill and Dayle Donohue. Martin will player the sole Munster player left in the grade Shane Murphy from Raffeen Creek in the first semi-final tomorrow while Dayle takes on former two time winner Mark Millar who came from behind to beat club-mate Sean Goggin 1up on the last hole. Will we have a first Leinster winner in the Gents since 2003 and will we crown a new Champion at the same time? Join us tomorrow from 9am (Ladies) and 9.30am (Gents) to find out the answers!
