National Inter Club stats

St. Anne’s won the National Scratch Inter-Club tournament for the third time.

St. Anne’s remain in second place on the all-time Roll of Honour, behind Fermoy’s five titles.

St. Patrick’s are still the only Leinster outfit to win the National Scratch Inter-Club tournament.

St. Anne’s move on to four National Scratch and National Nett/Inter/Junior wins, behind Fermoy’s six.

Tullamore became the second course (after St. Bridget’s) to host the National Inter-Club final twice.

St. Anne’s became the first team to win the National Scratch Inter-Club tournament twice at the same course, having previously triumphed at Tullamore ten years ago.

Frank Dineen and Ray Murphy earned their third National Scratch Inter-Club tournament gold medals, having previously been part of the 2013 and 2014 winning combinations.

Ian Leech and Martin O’Sullivan added National Scratch Inter-Club tournament gold medals to their wins in the 2013 National Nett/Inter/Junior final at Bruff. They join Fermoy’s Peter O’Donovan as players to win in both tournaments.

Cork Over-55 Strokeplay champion Harry O’Mahony claimed a maiden National Scratch Inter-Club tournament victory.

Pat Sheehan won his first National Scratch Inter-Club tournament gold medal to add to the bronze medal he collected at St. Bridget’s twelve months ago.

 

Riverdale were runners-up in the National Scratch Inter-Club tournament for the first time. They are the fourth different Tipperary club (following Larkspur Park, Tipperary Hills and Lakeside) to fill that position.

Riverdale’s three gents second places (one National Scratch Inter-Club and two Nett/Inter/Junior) are the most by any club. Riverdale were also second in the 2014 ladies event.

Stephen Shoer picked-up a second National Scratch Inter-Club tournament silver medal, having represented Lakeside at Royal Meath six years ago.

Sean Minogue now has a National Scratch Inter-Club tournament silver medal to add to his brace of Nett/Inter/Junior second places.

Minogue and Sean Crowe graduate from a National Nett/Inter/Junior Inter-Club win at Lakeside in 2019 to second place in the National Scratch event at Tullamore.

Tim and Sean Crowe are the first father and son to feature on the same National Scratch Inter-Club tournament runner-up team.

There were first National Scratch Inter-Club tournament second places for 2009 Munster Juvenile Strokeplay runner-up Simon Ryan and 2016 National Mixed Team Event session prize winner Peter Dunning.

 

 

Fermoy finished on the National Scratch Inter-Club tournament podium for the sixth time in the last six stagings of the event. They fielded five (John Cahill, Daithi Sexton, Willie Fitzgerald, Ryan Sexton and Dan O’Regan) of last year’s winning team. 2022 All Ireland Schools tournament runner-up Cian McGirr completed the Fermoy line-up at Tullamore.
