TOMORROW sees the Gents Inter-Club Quarter-Finals for the Handicap Section take place in Parteen, a week after the course played host to play on Saturday for the Munster Matchplay. Parteen were of course last year’s winners of this section up in St Bridgets. The first Quarter-Final was already played last week and resulted in a 6.5 to 2.5 win for Fermoy over inaugural winners St Annes as the remaining three Quarter-Finals are down for decision tomorrow morning.

In the first match last year’s Runners-Up Deerpark of Killarney take on Lakeside of Templemore, the latter finishing second in the Strokeplay Qualifying in Larkspur Park last month while Deerpark were sixth overall. The side that topped the Strokeplay element, Collins will take on the side that got in last in Riverdale in the next match as the third and final game tomorrow will be between Gowran 1 of Kilkenny and Hillview of Clonmel.

Play gets underway at Parteen from 9am and will consist of 36 holes matches, the first 18 in Doubles (Scotch Foursomes) before the second 18 will consist of Singles matches. The winners will advance to next weekend’s Finals Day at a venue to be determined with the conclusion of the Scratch Gents competition and the Ladies event also taking place on Saturday week.

Best of luck to all sides tomorrow, we hope to have updates on matches on the PPUI website during the day.
