The MacBride Club Captains Day took place on Saturday 29th July. Almost 30 club members attended what was a great day out at Royal Meath Pitch & Putt Course, and afterwards for meal and presentation in local eatery in Clonee. The large attendance was testimony to the high esteem in which this years Club Captain - Tommy Dyas is held.

 

The winner of the Overall Captains Prize was Brendan Walker. The Gents Senior Grade was won by Pádraic Sarsfield, Inter Grade went to Alan Cluskey, and the Junior Grade was won by Pat Gorman. The Ladies Winner was Audrey Donnelly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Best 36 nett - Joe Reilly and Best 36 Gross - Barry Thornton. Best Front 9 - David O'Brien & Best Back 9 - Owen Smith. Other results from the day include the winning Scramble team of Greg Hoey, Ray Mc Kenna & Pat Gorman. Nearest the pin winners were Owen Campbell on Hole 6, and Owen Smith on Hole 13. The Hole in One Prizes were won by Brendan Walker, Owen Smith and Greg Hoey. 

 

 

There was a Special Presentation on the night to the Captain himself. Tommy was presented with Honarary Membership of the Club in recognition of the many years of enthusiastic committment, loyal dedication and service he has given to MacBride, and continues to provide 28 years later. The many complimentary comments expressed about the wonderful condition of MacBride Pitch & Putt Course are in a large part as a result of the hard work Tommy puts in on a daily basis. Well Done Tommy!
