Ladies 2024 Championships Announcement
The newly established Ladies Sub Committee under the stewardship of Frances Ryan met recently and made the following proposals to the NEC in relation to 2024, These recomendations have been adopted by the NEC and will come into effect for next year
1. The 2024 National Ladies Strokeplay Championship in Navan will revert to a 54 hole event for all grades.
(Recommended outline of play:
Saturday 17th August Morning:Juniors ladies 36 holes strokeplay .
Afternoon: intermediate ladies 36 hole strokeplay .
Sunday 18th August
Morning :Senior ladies 36 hole strokeplay.
Sunday afternoon
All final 18s in all grades.)
The aim of this is to encourage a more relaxed field of play, support from other grade participants and increase the spectator audience for all 3 ladies grades.
2. The 2024 National Ladies Intercounty in Bagnelstown will be played over 54 holes to be finished on the Saturday, the format will be 36 holes of Scotch Foursomes and 18 holes of Singles
The aim of this is to
A. Restore the social aspect to the weekend whereby players can relax and celebrate after completing their championship.
B. Increase the spectator audience of the final days championship.
