Open Scramble

We ran a hugely successful Open Scramble on Thursday 5^th June with almost 40 people participating. After an evening of exciting play, the winners were the team of Michael Kennedy (very much in form), Anne Delahunty and Mary Maloney with an excellent score of 66. They were followed home in second place by the team of Stephen O’ Reilly, Tim Shanley and Eugene O’ Mahony. In third place were the team of Breda O’ Donnell, Con Lucey and Jimmy Fitzgerald. Sharing fourth place were the team of Kathleen Shanley, Adrian Anglim and Frankie Gubbins and also the team of Nora Whelan, Maureen Widger and Noel Joyce.

Hillview Scratch Cup

Despite a poor start to the day, we had an excellent turnout in the Hillview Scratch Cup played for the Paddy Power Memorial trophy. With players from Cork, Limerick, Waterford and as well as Tipperary taking part, we had an exciting days competition. It ended with the popular Liam O’ Donovan from Bruff Co. Limerick being declared winner. There was a good attendance for the presentation of the trophy which took place in the clubhouse immediately after the end of play in the presence of Mr John O’ Sullivan of O’ Sullivan Insurances Clonmel, the main sponsor, and the Hillview President Mr. Frankie Gubbins. Mr Gubbins expressed his thanks to O’ Sullivan Insurance for their generous and continuous support of this popular event. Mr O’ Sullivan stated that his company were delighted to be able to sponsor this event and to be connected with Hillview, a club in which his family have had a long association.
