Great start to MacBride winter league

MacBride Winter League underway

THE annual winter league kicked off in great spirit with an excellent turnout with eight teams competing and as expected they are firmly balanced as just five shots separate six teams with the other two closely behind.
The league follows a singles format with the best two weekly scores from each three-man team counting towards the overall league score while there are two singles grade prizes each week.
First blood in Grade 1 went to Ray mc Kenna with 42 Nett (HC6) who had a birdie streak of ten in a row beating David O’Brien by two strokes.
Pat ''The Nettle'' Gorman moved a step closer to the scissors when he carded a 40N (HC12) to pip Keith Smyth by just a single stroke.
Times of play next week are the same and members please note it's your best score of the week that counts not just your first card.
Any member not on a team may also enter the weekly competition.
The next draw for the MacBride Club Lotto takes place on Tuesday 28th January and tickets can be purchased from club and committee members or in the clubhouse.
