Cork County League Finals
Raffeen Creek and Collins 'A' triumph/
RAFFEEN CREEK SENIORS WON THE COUNTY TITLE TODAY WHEN THEY DEFEATED COLLINS 5-4.
Having beaten St Anne's, current Inter Club winners and County League winners for the last 5 years, at the semi-final stage could Raffeen Creek attain the same level to see off Collins and win the title for the first time in 24 years.
When Collins won the foursomes 2-1 and then secured wins in the first 2 singles to finish and take a 4-1 lead the writing was on the wall for Raffeen Creek. A never say die performance was called for and Raffeen certainally produced one to take the 4 remaining singles and secure a 5-4 win.
COLLINS 'A' made sure there was silverware going to Camp Field when they defeated 2014 Champions Majestic 5-4. Majestic were quick out of the blocks and were up in all 3 foursomes after 9 holes. Collins fought back to take a 2-1 lead into the singles and continued to keep their foot on the pedal to win 5-4.
Both finals were played at Kilshannig which was presented in superb condition.
