Cork County Board
U-16 Strokeplay 2013
The Cork U.16 stroke took place in Collins today and conditions were white hot both on and off the course. Local lad Brian o Neill was setting the early pace turning in -6 closely followed by Charlie Morrissey from Pfizer on -5, as they headed into the last nine holes Brian had improved to -9 and Charlie was on stayed on -5, Brian got to -11 at one stage but two bogeys and a double dropped him back to -7 before he finished strongly with 2 dykes to end on -9, Charlie played his back 9 in -4 to finish on -9 as well and a 9 hole playoff ensued.
We got some great drama in the playoff and both players finished -2 but at the first sudden death hole Brian had an unfortunate 4 and Charlie was left with an 18 inch putt for his 3 and the win, the putt found the center of the cup and Charlie Morrissey won his first U.16 County stroke.
Mark Hill from Douglas won the U.13 section and Pfizers won the team event.

A massive thanks to Collins for their hospitality and the fantastic course.
We would also like to thank the Keohane family for their genorous sponsorship and to all the parents and club mentors who turned out in huge numbers to support the future of our game.
