2026 National Scotch Foursome stats by John Manning

2026 National Scotch Foursome stats by John Manning

Bernadette O’Regan & Jason O’Regan are the first all-Tralee pairing to win the National Mixed Foursomes. Tralee’s Darren Goodall also won two years ago alongside Eileen McCarthy (Deerpark).

Bernadette and Jason are the third Co. Kerry couple to triumph at the National Mixed Foursomes, emulating Darren Goodall & Eileen McCarthy along with Deerpark’s Mary Murphy & Damien Fleming.

Bernadette & Jason O’Regan are the seventh pair in history to win the National Mixed Foursomes over their home course.

Lisa O’Connor & Tony Blake finished as National Mixed Foursomes runners-up for the second time. They were previously second at Collins in 2015.

Lisa and Tony are the fourth pair to finish second in the National Mixed Foursomes on two occasions. They are the second pair ever (after Lucan’s Tracey Smith & Anthony Malone in 2017) to be runners-up to a pair comprising club colleagues.

A Co. Kerry couple claimed second place for the third time in National Mixed Foursomes history.

Eleanor Walsh’s remarkable National Mixed Foursomes record continues. The Fermoy lady now holds five Best Gross wins (with three different partners, Kieran Kearney (2), Joe Flood (2) and most recently John Cahill). She has also won Overall and been second.

Eleanor Walsh & John Cahill are the first pairing to claim Munster Mixed Foursomes Best Gross and National Mixed Foursomes Best Gross in the same season since Linda Murphy (Collins) & Ray Murphy (Templebreedy) in 2008.

Margaret Hennessy & Sean Minogue are the second couple in history to be officially awarded third place in the National Mixed Foursomes. The Riverdale duo adds this distinction to their 2024 runners-up finish.

Charlotte Blake & Jamie Blake ensured a Kerry pair won a session prize at the National Mixed Foursomes for the third year in a row. Charlotte and Jamie are the fourth Kerry pair in all to win a session prize. Lisa O’Connor & Tony Blake won in 2016, Bernadette O’Regan & Jason O’Regan in 2024 plus Ciara Lowe & Con Sullivan last year.

2011 overall winners Ailish Sexton & Daithi Sexton collected second session honours, emulating Bernadette O’Regan & Jason O’Regan, the current champions, who claimed 2nd session laurels two years ago.

93 points was the National Mixed Scotch Foursomes winning aggregate for the fourth consecutive year.

The National Mixed Foursomes was decided by the second eighteen countback rule for the ninth time and for the second time since the format was changed to Stableford. The tiebreaker was needed for the second successive year, the first time that has happened since 1982 and 1983.

All of the National Mixed Foursomes podium finishers represented Munster clubs, replicating the result at Larkspur Park four years ago. The last time Leinster clubs achieved this distinction was in 2023 at Royal Meath.

Noel Lee & John O’Regan are the first partnership from Tralee (and the first from Co. Kerry) to win the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes.

Noel Lee & John O’Regan together with Bernadette & Jason O’Regan ensured that Tralee 2026 matched Larkspur Park’s 2022 achievement of wining both National Scotch Foursomes titles in the same year.

The same club provided the winners and runners-up in the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes for the first time ever. Lakeside provided one of the winning pair (Mark Cahill) in 2024 and the runner-up pair (Davy Morrissey & Sean McCormack).

Dan O'Leary & Eddie Sheehy are the first pair from Tralee (and the first from Co. Kerry) to finish second in the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes.

Dan O'Leary & Eddie Sheehy are the first partnership to finish second to a team composed entirely of clubmates in the history of the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes.

Diaris Liepins & Tony Blake provided an interesting international angle to the 2026 National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes. Though very much of Kerry, Tony was actually born in New York.

We can safely say that Diaris Liepins is the first Latvian to finish third in the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes

Jason Cregan & Damien Fleming are the second multi-club combination to win the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes Best Gross, emulating Frank Dineen (St. Anne’s) & John Walsh (Collins), the 2024 winners. Coincidentally, both teams fired 93.

Damien Fleming is the first player to ever collect the Gross in the National Non-Mixed having won the overall National Mixed.

Tony Blake and Jamie Blake earned prizes in both Scotch Foursomes finals on successive days, emulating Hillview’s John Fitzgerald who did likewise in 2022.

Jamie Blake & Michael Conway earned a 1st session prize with the lowest ever winning score in that category, 91 points.

Ian Dillon added a second session prize in 2026 alongside John Kelly (Athgarvan) to his 2025 Best Gross victory, partnered by St. Bridget’s club colleague Frank Ryan.

Ciara Lowe & Eileen McCarthy both claimed their second National Scotch Foursomes podium visit, this time in the Non-Mixed category.

The winning score at Tralee was the lowest successful aggregate in National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes history.

No club has previously dominated the National Non-Mixed Scotch Foursomes podium in a single year to the extent that Tralee did in 2026. Tralee players picked-up nine of the fourteen prizes on offer. That’s an all-time record, overtaking Lakeside’s five from twelve (in 2024).

Tralee hosted the National Scotch Foursomes final for the first time ever.
