Discussion on the recommendations has finished and we are at an end for this year's Convention. We hope you were able to follow our updates today on the website and a reminder that our President Mervyn Cooney's speech will be posted on the website in due course. Motion 19 withdrawn, onto Recommendations. 

Motion 18 defeated after a vote of 49-11 against. 

 

3.55pm 

Motion 17 is withdrawn. 

3.50pm 

Motion 16 defeated after a vote of 46-7 against. 

3.45pm 

Motion 15 defeated after a vote of 50-11 against. 

Motion 13 withdrawn. 

3.40pm 

Motion 12 carried after a vote of 63-3 in favour. 

3.35pm 

Motion 11 withdrawn on basis rule is put back in place.

Motion 10 defeated by 55-10.

Motion 9 defeated 33-31.

Motion 8 defeated 59-3. Motion 20 is 43 for 33 against but doesn't pass as doesn't get required two-thirds majority.

Motions 8 and 20 being taken together.

Motion 6 carried after a strong debate (61-7) meaning 6 year olds can now register as PPUI Members.

Motion 6 is carried meaning Handicap System open from March1st-November 1st each year.

St Annes agree to withdraw Motion 21 as Motion 4 & 5 are carried by 53-11. Gents Range now +3 to -16 and Ladies is +1 to -21.

Motion 4 is being taken with Motions 5 and 21 in relation to Handicap Grades and Ranges.

Motion 3 is carried by 43-9 meaning County/Regional Board AGM's can be held up to February 9th each year and PPUI Convention before March 15th each year from 2019. 

Motion 2 is carried. 

Douglas withdrawn Motion 14 as Motion 1 is carried.

As Noel Collins is vacating the role and Jim Milligan has indicated his desire not to contest position, Helen McMorrow is duly elected as U-16 Officer for 2018. Motions now being discussed. 

2.20pm 

Helen McMorrow indicates her desire to vacate the position of Registrar in order to contest the poisition of U-16 Officer. As Mark Keohane will not contest Registrar either the position is deemed vacant and will be filled by co-option by the NEC.

Convention resumes with the election of our Officers for 2018.

Reports Concluded with a break for lunch now and we will resume at 2.05pm.

Hall of Fame Recipient for 2018 is Christy Gibney from Trim as he is currently being presented with his award.

Reports coming towards conclusion, Hall of Fame announcement slightly delayed from 12.30pm intended time.

Treasurers Report adopted with a unanimous agreement from the Meeting to increase adult registration fee from 2019 to €15 from present €13.

President Mervyn Cooney formally begins Convention by calling for a Minutes Silence in memory of all PPUI members who passed away during the year.
