With the sounding of a hooter at 10.00am the first section of the Brophy Brothers National Mixed Foursomes got underway. For a pleasant change all the competitors were present and eager to get to grips with the excellently prepared Lakewood course. Sadly the weather did not oblige and a heavy misty rain greeted the players and the local weather forecasters pointing to the hills that were shrouded in cloud were not offering much hope of a major improvement.
