Day 1 of the
2012 Inter County Championships has just commenced at a sunny St. Patrick’s
course in Enniscorthy.
In the
Ladies Championship a total of eight teams are taking part starting with Offaly
and Louth at 10.00am, next pairing at 10.15 is Meath & Tipperary followed
at 10.30 by Kildare & Waterford with
Cork & Dublin being the final pairing at 10.45 Dublin are defending
champions but Cork will be anxious to regain the title they won in 2010 while
Kildare will be hoping to recapture the form that brought them four titles in a
row from 2005 to 2008. Tipperary could also challenge hard with a very
experienced team whose members have been knocking on the door for some time.
Play has
just commenced with the foursomes
pairings of Offaly & Louth and with a further six teams to play the day should
provide great entertainment
